tracking control in menu?

I've axquired a Mitsubishi HS-U776 VCR that seems to have tracking problems
on some old tapes. I can't find any physical control on the unit anywhere.

Is tracking a menu-controlled item? I have a universal remote that works to
operate the drive but doesn't bring up a menu for programming recordings.

How am I going to adjust tracking?

Let me guess: The problem is on old EP (SLP) recorded tapes that were recorded
on a *non* 19 micron head VCR.

The U776 has auto-tracking only, IIRC. Perhaps a combination of front panel
buttons. From the U778 manual:

manual tracking

From time to time, you might play a tape that has excess noise in the picture,
often looking like vibration or interference at the top or bottom of the
screen. To correct the picture, you have to manually track the tape.

1 While the tape is playing, press CHANNEL on the front panel until the
picture is clear of excess noise.
2 To continue automatic tracking, press both front panel CHANNEL buttons at
the same time. Automatic tracking will also resume when you eject the tape.

If you leave your email address, I'll send you a PDF copy of the U778 manual.
