are the parts still available?

Without inquiring at my local neighbourhood vcr technicians, I was wondering
if anyone knows what the chances are of, say, JVC, stll having the
availability of parts for a malfunctioning JVC HR-S10000U? This was a real
high-end consumer model that sold in 1988-89. I have two of them but one has
developed an audio problem through the left channel. Its really low on the
Hi-Fi soundtrack but the stereo linear track is unaffected. Sound like
heads? TIA

I can't help with the diagnosis, but for parts a good source for me
has been studiosoundelectronics.com. They're very friendly and
responsive, and may help you with the diagnosis. They do stock the
