Panasonic NV-HV61 EB VCR error codes

I have an error code EL1 on the front panel display plus the current time
and the VCR wont respond to anything wont switch off or on or eject a tape
inside ?? I have unplugged it and left it for 20 minutes but still comes
up with same EL1 error Anyone got any ideas??

Sorted the problem! I had accidentally pressed the External Link button and
the VCR was waiting for an input from a Satellite receiver timer which was
disconnected. So it kept waiting. The VCR came back to life when the Ext
Link button was pressed again!!
